Which soil carbon model is best — RothC, CENTURY or DNDC?+

There is no single best model. RothC is simple and widely accepted; DNDC captures nitrogen and emissions richly; CENTURY suits longer-term dynamics. Selection depends on data and methodology — we advise per project.

Can modelling replace soil sampling?+

No. Credible programmes use measure-and-model: sampling anchors the model. Model-only claims without measurement are not accepted by leading standards.
